From
the same streets that spawned the original Kiss comes
Kiss Nation, New
York’s leading Kiss Tribute band performing in full costume, makeup and platforms
as well as a stage show shifted into high gear. Although, Kiss Nation
tributes all eras of Kiss from the 70’s to today, they have become well known
for recreating the "Creatures of the Night" look with Gerard Russo dressed as
Eric Carr (the fox).
Kiss Nation recently played at The Downtown
in Farmingdale kicking off the night with "Love Gun" and "Detroit Rock City"
followed by about a dozen other Kiss favorites including "Shout it out Loud"
and "God of Thunder" where Carlos Espada (as Gene Simmons) bares his axe-shaped
Bass Guitar and spews blood from his mouth as he shows off some of his tongue
whipping techniques. "God gave Rock & Roll to you" made a great impact
on the audience producing massive applause with fans snapping open their camera
phones for a shot of the band. For their encore performance Kiss Nation
brings out the big guns with "Black Diamond" and "Lick it Up" ending the night
with the all time Kiss Classic "Rock and Roll All Night ".
These guys have earned their reputation. Kiss Nation
has brought the attention of Sony Signatures in 1997 where they were invited
to appear during the unveiling of the Kiss Action Figures. The band has also
gained direct approval from actual Kiss Members Gene Simmons and Paul
Stanley and since been invited to appear with them at several highlighted
events including an interview on CNBC’s show Power Lunch.
